the ARTSPEAKS Project lives on in 2018!
and has  a new place to call home

Breaking News! February 2018 The ARTSpeaks Project moved into
its new home at the Sault Ste. Marie Museum (2nd floor),
690 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

Many thanks to all who have donated to the Project. Your generosity will help to keep the program running til the end of Spring 2018!

For more Information about how you can help keep The ARTSpeaks Project running watch the video below and please visit our

GoFundMe Campaign.

2017 was a whirlwind of creation!

The first of four ARTSpeaks Workshop Series began April 4, 2017, and subsequently ran until October 25, 2017. Art works produced by project participants and mentors were on display at the Ideal Art Space, 724 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, from November 16, 2017 - December 16, 2017 during the
'Re-Purposing Trauma' exhibit.

From March 24-October 27, 2017,  we worked with over 45 women, ran 60 workshop sessions in journal making, painting, photography and sculpture, 26 Art-Drop (open studio) sessions covering a variety of art processes including colour theory and basics of design, and 6 Guest Artist Series sessions in organic mobile making, paper-making, wet felting, mixed media portraiture, collage and mask-making for a total of 92 art-making sessions overall.
Our core funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has come to an end, and while we spend 2018 writing new grants, we’re looking to the community we serve to lend a helping hand so that we might continue into the new year with a more compact, once weekly program.
